HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
New Century Children's School began to function in the year 1976, prior to formation of the society. It had then 7 pupils and one teacher. It functioned free of rent at the upstairs portion of the residence of a founder member of the society. Over the years, it grew to be a Matriculation Higher Secondary School, recognized by the Government of Tamilnadu. The area where the school functions is an interior village of Ambattur Municipality. Most of the families living belong to down trodden castes with low and uncertain income. Despite many teaching troubles, the school is housed in own premises, the main building is named "Chandra Rajeswara Rao Memorial Building" and the second floor hall is called "P. Manickam Memorial Hall". A separate block has been constructed which is named as "M. V. Sundaram Hall". The total strength of the school is nearly 550 and maned by 25 teachers and 5 non-teaching staff. To pick up children to school and drop them back at home, school's own, Tata mini bus is used. A small, but good library and a well - equipped laboratory are under the control of the teachers. The students and teachers wnthusiastically participated in NSS camps conducted in this area. Since the members of the society are committed requirements of the parents of the students. Standard education at affordable cost to all has been the guiding principles in the management of the school.
